When is
my tax relief check coming?
With the current
state of the economy we all need some economic relief.
The good news is for some of it is coming from our
president in the form of a check. Whether you are using
it to stimulate the economy at Walmart, Sears or are just
socking it away in your savings account the sooner the
money comes the better. So if you are wondering when your
tax relief check is coming you may want to check with the
Internal Revenue Service at (800) 829-1040. You may want
to have a copy of your most recent tax return handy so
that you can prove you are calling and not some impostor.
You would not want someone else to pose as you and get
your tax refund instead of you. So in the age of identity
theft the IRS is being careful about whom they speak
with.

NYC
residents want that tax refund no more than
ever
What is a
tax refund?
Simply put a tax
refund is when your taxes paid are more than your tax
obligations. This can be the result of excess
withholding,
estimated payments or
credits. Even if it is from a credit you may have been able to
access those monies earlier by filing the correct forms with
your employer. You can get a larger tax refund by being aware
of all the opportunities for tax deductions as well as credits.
Many taxpayers have found
that their refund increases when they use the services of a tax
preparer or Certified Public Accountant. Just be wary of anyone
who offers to base their tax preparation fee on the size of
your refund because this may encourage them to do things that
are not correct.
What
is wrong with a RAL?
First off
what is a RAL? A RAL is a refund anticipation loan, which means
a bank is loaning you the money that you will eventually get
from your tax refund. The problem with a refund anticipation
loan is that it can be expensive versus the number of days you
are getting access to your money for. For example had you
received the refund anyways in another three weeks then the fee
being paid is for a three week loan !
